Episode1: Dave Kalama - Legendary Waterman
Amazing interview with 2018 Duke Kahanamoku Hawaiian Waterman Hall of Fame inductee - Dave Kalama. Dave is a world-class Big Wave surfer and World Champion Windsurfer based on the island of Maui. He is credited as one of the co-developers of Big Wave Tow surfing along with his tow partner and Surfing Legend Laird Hamilton and surfing royalty Darrick Doerner and Buzzy Kerbox. In addition to Tow Surfing, Dave is also to blame (again with Laird) for the global development and expansion of modern Paddleboarding. In addition to numerous awards and movies like James Bond - Die Another Day, Riding Giants, Endless Summer II, Step Into Liquid, All Aboard the Crazy Train and others; Dave is also the son of Hawaiian surfing legend Ilima Kalama and his Grandfather is credited with bringing the sport of Outrigger Canoe to the mainland of California. I have known Dave for a few years and it is an honor to Talk Story with him about life on this Big Blu Rock for the inaugural episode. Come join us and Find Peace, Lead with Love and Live Aloha!
